Looking to add your voice against recent threats and attacks on cartoonists here and abroad? The Cartoonists Rights Network has now posted an online petition you can sign.
The online petition, an extension of the April stand taken by 19 Pulitzer Prize winners in support of South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, can be found here: http://cartoonistrights.com/petition/
“We, the undersigned, condemn politically and religiously based threats and attacks against cartoonists in the United States and around the world.Freedom of expression is a universal right and we reject any group that seeks to silence people by violence or intimidation. In the United States we have a proud tradition of political satire and believe in the right to speak or draw freely without censorship.”
Since last week, over 100 cartoonists and other individuals have signed the petition.
