Jeannie Schulz, widow of Peanuts cartoonist Charles Schulz and long-time friend of the AAEC, was one of thousands to lose their home in the California wildfires this week. Schulz had to flee in the middle of the night as flames consumed whole neighborhoods. The house, which the Schulz's owned since the early 1970s, held a good deal of Peanuts memorabilia, family archives, and Charles Schulz's home studio.
Most of the Schulz collection of original comic strips, artwork and is housed at the nearby museum which remained just outside the firezone.
